After the ecological footprint theory was proposed, it was applied widely in every field, and the computational method was perfected endlessly. It has been the focus of the scholar’s research at home and abroad, that is constructing the campus to be green university, through calculating the ecological footprint of colleges. This paper is based on the ecological footprint thought, and makes up college’s resource consumption ecological footprint models, including energy model, food model, waste model, paper model, water model, transformation model and tableware model. The central campus of Qingdao University is taken for an example and2009year is used to be evaluation criteria year and the ecological footprint and ecological efficiency of college’s resource consumption is evaluated.he relevant results indicate that the ecological footprint of the central campus of Qingdao University is17624.086hm2and its ecological efficiency is1.28perhm-2. It can be seen that one hectare of land with the global average productivity is sufficient to support1.28students. Therefore, the central campus of Qingdao University sustainable development condition is well and it matches the definition of the green university. The chief’s consumption of all college’s resource consumption is energy consumption, and the energy ecological footprint is11235.4012hm2. The ecological footprint and ecological efficiency of the central campus of Qingdao University are compared with ten colleges at home and abroad. The result suggests that the proportion of the energy ecological footprint is the biggest among the ecological footprints of11colleges, including the central campus of Qingdao University. That is to say, the carbon ecological footprint is high. So we must reduce the carbon ecological footprint to construct green university, and construct the campus to be low-carbon conservation-minded campus.In order to reduce the ecological footprint of colleges and construct the low-carbon conservation-minded campus, the following strategies are proposed in this paper:wide propagandization and building the atmosphere of constructing the low-carbon conservation-minded campus, strengthening the low-carbon consciousness of the teachers and students all around the college, and putting more effort in the resource saving, in the direction of applying the low-carbon technology, increasing input and intensifying scientific research and bringing in talents interrelated the low-carbon technology.
