Comparison Study Of High-school Geography (Compulsory Textbook One) Between People's Education Press And Hunan Education Publishing House-Selecting The Earth In The Universe As The Example

It has been twelve years since the reform of high-school geography textbook from 2004 to make it transfer to "One Education Outline, More Textbook Editions''. And it surely is necessary to make a conclusion of problems of different editions during the teaching process and also their advantages and disadvantages. Considering the wide use of the textbook published by People's Education Press and Hunan Education Publishing House, the author takes The Earth in the Universe as an example to conduct the study of high-school geography (compulsory textbook one) between People's Education Press and Hunan Education Publishing House.In this thesis, documentary study method, comparison method and case-analyzing method have been adopted by the author. With the guidance of several educational theory, including humanistic learning theory, cognitivism learning theory, constructivism learning theory, and the theory of multiple intelligences, the author, based on the course standard of high school geography textbook, compares the consilience of these two books published by People's Education Press and Hunan Education Publishing House respectively. The author has analyzed the four specific course standards of The Earth in the Universe and made a careful comparison with the textbook content of the above two editions. The study finds that textbooks compiled by People's Education Press and Hunan Education Publishing House take educational theory as the guidance and course standard as the base to conduct course standard from different aspects. The consilience of textbook published by People's Education Press is higher than that of Hunan Education Publishing House. The textbooks of People's Education Press are better being learning materials, while the textbooks of Hunan Education Publishing House are suitable for being teaching materials. The author finally, based on the summary of the advantages and disadvantages towards the textbook compiling of People's Education Press and Hunan Education Publishing House, has put forward the suggestions of textbook revision and using in the teaching process.
