A new round of basic education curriculum reform is also known as the new curriculum reform, is the country "to deepen the education reform based on the end of the last century, the comprehensive promotion of quality education" requirement, its purpose is to meet the requirements of quality education curriculum system of basic education in the new century building. In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge update the faster, to keep pace with the times, must keep learning and lifelong learning. That is to say, to enhance the learning ability is more important than to learn some knowledge. Ability to explore, as an important part of learning ability, is one of the essential learning skills of students in the learning process. Geography inquiry ability is to arouse students’learning of Geography in the fuse, is to cultivate students’ autonomous learning, cooperative learning in the new curriculum reform, inquiry learning inexhaustible power. Therefore, according to the students’ inquiry ability in geography classroom The survey, the study of students’ ability to explore the level of geography, and then put forward the way to cultivate students’ ability to explore, to enhance the level of students’ geographical inquiry.The new geography curriculum standard as the basis, by the cognitive theory, constructivism learning theory, problem consciousness, zone of proximal development theory as a guide, using the method of literature research, investigation method, example method and other research methods, the combination of theory and practice, explore some of cultivating the students’ ability to explore the effective method.Through the survey found that the ability of the relatively high level of inquiry experiment in Qingdao economic and Technological Development Zone of junior middle school students’ geography. On the one hand, adolescent students due to psychological physiology, great changes will have a positive impact on its own inquiry ability; on the other hand, due to the relatively restless students at this stage of its own inquiry ability the level and mining potential. At the same time, Qingdao economic and Technological Development Zone experimental junior middle school in the requirements of the new curriculum reform, the teaching process can be student-centered, focusing on students’ inquiry ability and problem consciousness; teaching means diversification in order to improve the students’ learning interest; teaching evaluation for the purpose of comprehensive development students, change to scores of screening and selection of students; diversified subject teaching evaluation, not only the evaluation of teachers, students also increased Comments and peer assessment.To sum up and the Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone Experimental Primary School Students to learning geography research on corresponding in process, with good geographical inquiry ability to base the potential; the school also actively cultivate students establish correct geography to explore the concept of, for the requirements of the applicable times and pay attention to students’ Geography Inquiry ability, accomplish truly student-centered.Finally, through the study under the new curriculum reform of geography students inquiry ability, and the results can be reference for students with a more effective geographic study, but because of lack of in-depth study, the research scope is too small, lack of practical verification need further explore.
