Research On Improvement Of University Counselors’ Professional Capabilities

At the present stage,University counselors assume an important mission to carry out ideological and political education and cultivate the talents.Their professional capabilities not only reflects the ability level of the counselors individual,also reflects the degree of university counselors’ specialization development.With the deepening of the higher education reform,the party and the state attaches great importance to the construction and development of counselors,formulated and issued a series of documents to provide guarantee for the professionalization and specialization development of counselors team,guidance counselors to be the specialist of the direction growth in their field,effort to build a high quality,high level of the counselor team.Under the guidance of the relevant policies,integrated use of the theory of ideological and political education,management,psychology and other related disciplines,literature research and investigation analysis,from the analysis of the current situation of professional competence of college counselors,identify problems,and then we made a number of recommendations to promote the improvement of their professional competence.The article is divided into the following four parts:The first part is the overview of university counselors’ professional skills,the meaning of definition of related details and the review of development of university counselors’ vocational ability.Based on the content structures of professional ability,this essay designs a pyramid model of the counselors’ vocational skills,and then elaborate the necessity of improving university counselors’ professional skills from the aspects of educational reform,personnel training and team development.Through the statistics analysis of the questionnaires conducted by the instructors in some universities in Zhengzhou city,the second part gets a preliminary understanding of the current situation of counselors’ professional skills.Firstly,it speaks highly of the remarkable achievements that achieved by the current counselors’ professional ability.Secondly,it sums up the counselors’ weaknesses in these four aspects: the ideological and political education,the psychological health education,vocational development and employment guidance on the basis of the result of the statistical data analysis and then deepens the discussion after that.The third part analyzes the constraint on improving counselors’ vocational skills from the objective and subjective aspects.The objective aspect mainly makes analysis from the perspective of pertinent politics and management system.In the meanwhile,the subjective point is related to the difference of the ideological cognition and professional quality of instructors themselves.In the light of analyzing and summarizing the current situation of counselors’ professional quality and influence factors,the fourth part puts forward cohesive social consensus and enhancing counselors’ professional confidence.What is more,the suggestions as wholesome management mechanism,improving Perfecting the system guarantee of the counselors’ professional ability development.improving self-management,and strengthening counselors’ professional ability are meaningful to the counselors’ vocational developments.
