| With the development of economy in China, migrant workers have become a concern of the whole society since reform and opening-up policy was carried out.Compared with the first generation of migrant workers, the new generation of migrant workers has higher education, and is more willing to participate in vocational education. However, constrained by social structure between urban and rural areas, their education and technical level, the new generation migrant workers’ human capital can not meet the needs of industrialization, from which a new round of "labor shortage" has resulted.Vocational training is a significant approach for the improvement of human resource, which will contribute to enhancing professional skill level and comprehensive qualities of new migrant workers.Based on the survey of new-generation migrant workers in construction industry in Guanlan District in Shenzhen City, this paper analyzed these data collected through literature review, questionnaires and interviews and examined the relevant factors which would influence vocational training willingness of new-generation migrant workers. It is concluded through analyzing the survey data that these factors has influenced their vocational training willingness, such as gender, education, training time, salary, career development. The higher education they get,the stronger willingness they have to participate in vocational training;the higher wage they get after being vocationally trained which has greatly help to promote their career development, the stronger willingness they have to participate in such a training;the longer the training program last, the lower willingness they have to participate in vocational training. It is also revealed that there are some serious existing problems such as insufficient governments’investment in vocational training, enterprises’ low training willingness, the chaos and imperfect training market,as well as the backward training consciousness of new-generation of migrant workers, which will be bottle-neck for the promotion of migrant workers’ human capital. Therefore,it is necessary that government at all levels improve training policy system and increase investment in vocational training, enterprises enhance the quality training and improve communication mechanisms, training agencies standardize their training behavior and strengthen mutual cooperation;and that new-generation of migrant workers change their philosophy of vocational training so as to enhance their capabilities. |
