The teachers’ professional identity is a positive attitude towards their own career.Only when the teachers think that their career is valuable and meaningful inwardly,can the fully devote themselves to work,and experience the happiness and a sense of achievement in work.Primary and middle school teachers are also belong to high emotional laborer.Adopting different emotional labor strategies will not only affect teachers’ physical and mental health and job performance, but also can affect the students’ academic performance and mental development.The job satisfaction of a teacher can importantly influence teachers’ professional development and the stability of teachers.The study investigated 455 primary and middle school teachers in Henan province using the teachers’ professional identity scale by Wei Shuhua,primary and middle school teachers’ emotional labor strategies scale by Wu Yuju, Liu Yi,Ling Wenquan and Lu Hong,and the teacher’s job satisfaction scale adapted by Lv Guoguang.This research was used to investigate the current situation of teachers’ professional identity and emotional labor strategies,and explore the relationship of professional identity,emotional labor strategies and job satisfaction.The main conclusions are as follows:1. As a whole,primary and middle school teachers’ professional identity level is higher,but the scores on the four dimensions of professional identity are uneven.For example,the score on professional value dimension is the highest, and the score on role value dimension is the lowest.2.primary and middle school teachers’ professional identity differs significantly in marriage, length of teaching services, grade and location.3.Except that role value had no significant correlation with surface action, each dimension of professional identity had a significantly positive correlation with each dimension of emotional labor strategies.Each dimension of professional identity had a significantly positive correlation with job satisfaction.Deep action and natural expression had a significantly positive correlation with job satisfaction,and surface action had no significant correlation with job satisfaction.4.Each dimension of professional identity predicted deep action significantly.Professional belongingness predicted surface action significantly. Role value,professional behavior tendency and professional belongingness predicted natural expression significantly.Role value and deep action predicted job satisfaction significantly.5.Emotional labor strategies mediated the relationship between professional identity and job satisfaction.Specifically,deep action had significant partial mediating effect on the relationship between role value and job satisfaction.
