| In 2017,the Ministry of Education issued No.43 Decree "Regulations on the Construction of Counselor Teams in Ordinary Colleges and Universities",which means that the construction of counselor team has opened a new era,showing new impetus and new development.However,the public and the counselors themselves are generally concerned about the professional capacity development and team establishment of college counselors,ignoring the emotional issues of counselors in their work.College counselors are a group of workers with high emotions.They need to engage in emotion management,regulation and expression to fit the image of their profession,namely emotional labor.Therefore,emotional labor is indispensable in all aspects of college counselors’ work.The use of different emotional labor strategies will have different degrees of psychological consumption on counselors,which will lead to job burnout and career happiness decline.In addition,college counselors’ choice of emotional labor strategy is also closely related to teacher-student relationship and education quality.Therefore,it is necessary to study the influencing factors of college counselors’ emotional labor strategy selection.The level of professional identity affects the whole career development of college counselors.Therefore,the study chooses to carry out a detailed study on the influence of professional identity on emotional labor strategies of college counselors.Firstly,relevant questionnaires were obtained by literature analysis.A questionnaire reflecting the current situation of professional identity level,the current situation of emotional labor strategy choice of college counselors and the relationship between them was developed and tested for reliability and validity according to the purpose of this study.Secondly,the questionnaire information of 115 counselors in University J of Jiangsu Province was processed by mathematical statistics method,and supplemented by semi-structured interviews of 9 counselors.The overall level of professional identity of counselors at University J was revealed to be high,and the levels of professional emotion,professional beliefs and professional will were relatively low;College counselors usually adopt two kinds of emotional labor strategies:deep playing and surface playing at the same time in their work,and more deep playing strategies are used,and the types and proportion of emotional labor strategies of counselors in J University are obtained.Thirdly,SPSS software was used for difference analysis and correlation analysis to explore the influence of occupational identity on emotional labor strategies.It was found that occupational identity had a significant impact on the selection of emotional labor strategies by college counselors,and college counselors with different levels of occupational identity adopted different emotional labor strategies in their work.This means that the low level of professional identity of college counselors will influence the counselors to choose more emotional labor strategies,which is not conducive to the counselors’ mental health development.Based on the above research results,in order to improve the emotional management,regulation and expression ability of college counselors,reduce psychological consumption,and promote the construction of college counselors in a new era,the following suggestions are proposed:First of all,improve the professional identity of college counselors and be the "navigator"of life.According to the ABC theory of emotion,occupational cognition is a direct factor affecting the emotional expression and behavior of college counselors.When counselors were confronted with the same work events,emotional expressions and behaviors became more positive as professional identity increased.As a result,the following specific recommendations are made to enhance the professional identity of college counselors:(1)Provide professional ability training,strengthen the guidance of teachers and students;(2)Standardize the scope of daily work and enhance the professional content of work;(3)Improve the evaluation mechanism and increase the possibility of career development.Secondly,strengthen the emotional training of college counselors to be emotional"helmsman".Many studies have confirmed that college counselors are one of the groups with high emotional labor and job burnout.Therefore,it is inevitable for college counselors to carry out emotional labor in their work.In recent years,how to optimize the emotional labor of college counselors has gradually become an important research direction for the construction of college counselors in the new era.The psychological consumption produced in the process of emotional labor will lead to job burnout of college counselors,and the use of different emotional labor strategies will produce different degrees of psychological consumption,more use of deep playing strategies to reduce counselors’ psychological consumption and alleviate job burnout.In addition,as a part of education,emotional labor has educational value and is conducive to the construction of a harmonic teacher-student relationship.Therefore,it is particularly important to optimize the emotional labor of college counselors,specifically:(1)Strengthen personal cognition,improve emotional management ability;(2)Organize emotional training and give compensation for psychological consumption.Finally,improve the professional reputation of college counselors and become professional "spokespersons".The social reputation of an occupation,let alone a "young"occupation,usually requires a long professional process before it can be widely noticed and recognized by the public.The college counselors have the same view on the social outside world’s visit to the occupation,that the college counselors’ social status is not as good as that of teachers.Generally speaking,social evaluation comes from the initial view of choosing a career and the nature of the job.Obviously,compared with other professions such as university teachers,college counselors have almost no entry threshold.The nature of their work is both management and teaching,which seems to lack the possibility to deeply work in a certain field.In the process of investigation,it is found that occupational prestige is a key factor affecting occupational identity.Therefore,the study proposed that attention should be paid to improving the professional reputation of counselors,specifically:(1)Develop excellent skills and enhance professional quality;(2)Combine various forces to build a good professional image. |
