According to the United Nations, a country or region 60 years of age(or 65 years old) the proportion reached or exceeded the total population of10%(or 7%), the country and region has entered the stage of population aging. According to statistics from the Sixth census of our country, China has around 180 million citizens above the age of 60, which rates 13.2% of total population. According to the rising trend,China's elderly population will be expected to reach 5 in two hundred and fifty million years,and the percentage of the total population will increase by 4%.According to this, our country has entered the aging stage. About 60% of the elderly living in the countryside, rural population aging level is much higher than urban population. With the increasing degree of population aging in our country,the problem of support for the elderly, especially the rural elderly, is even more prominent.The main content of this paper is of W Village in Ordos City as a case investigation, and to study the problems existing in the maintenance of the old people in the village, and analyze the causes of the problems.Then from the perspective of social support theory in social work, using the research methods of questionnaire, interviews and other social research methods,make a case study of typical old people in W village of Ordos City,to understand the general situation of the maintenance of the rural elderly at this stage. From the perspective of social work to provide some reference for the other old people in the village to provide some reference for the problems, we can better deal with the challenges brought by the social transformation.The main part of the article is based on the field investigation and the specific case, respectively, from the following several aspects to carry on thedetailed discussion: First, rural adult children in order to pursue a better work and life, mostly choose to settle in the city, which caused the lack of care for the daily life of the elderly in rural areas. Second, monotonous spiritual and cultural life can not meet the needs of the elderly in the spirit of the elderly in the spirit of comfort, so that the elderly's loneliness is growing,the physical health and well-being of the people and therefore be damaged.Third, farmers underserved, simple facilities in the village medical institutions, medical level low, resulting in remote medical treatment,increased difficulty in seeing a doctor, make the rural elderly people can not be timely medical care and lead to more serious illness. Fourth, the rural elderly people know very little about their support rights can be guaranteed by the law, the old people think this is the housework, do not understand, not good with the law, to fight for their rights. In the last part of the article, the author through the perspective of social work, for W Village facing the elderly maintenance problems respectively from the four aspects of government, communities, families and the elderly themselves put forward a constructive suggestion.
