Since the 1950 s, high school mathematics competition in our country has played an important role in selecting and cultivating mathematical talents. In recent years, due to the fact that the ministry of education has adjusted preferential policies of college enrollment, quota control is more and more strict, accordingly there is a great influence on the implementation of high school mathematics competition.In many schools, because of lacking qualified teachers and students' uninteresting in learning, high school Olympiad teaching is non-standard, especially sometimes there is no Olympiad teaching course.Therefore, starting from the school actual teaching situation and connecting with related practical experience in mathematics competition teaching in school, the present study focus on high school Olympiad teaching. It introduces the development of the Olympic math competition and education value of mathematical competition, then mathematics teaching method in practical operation is discussed from the two aspects of the school and the teacher. At last, a numerical example is given to elaborate efficient Olympiad teaching strategies in the Olympic math classroom, which is on the basis of new curriculum.These strategies include: designing classroom introduction; understanding textbooks and intensifying mathematic thought and ways; encouraging students' cooperative study; variant training and spontaneous realization; training students' transfer ability so as to develop their thinking.
