| Objective:In order to explore different grade level students’ difference in class-related academic emotions, and the relationship between the emotion regulation and class-related academic emotions, this study took high school students from grade one to grade two in Nanchang as the research subject.Then it discussed the effectiveness of solution-focused group counseling to improve the underachievement students’ class-related academic emotions through intervention in their emotion regulation.Methods: This study adopted questionnaire to investigate 600 senior to junior students in Nanchang.24 academic achievement at the end of 27% are selected who had class-related academic emotional problems and were voluntary.Then 12 students were randomly selected as the experimental group, another 12 known as control group.The experimental group received six times solution-focused group counseling, while the control group did other group activities unrelated to emotion regulation.After the group counseling, statistical analysis were carried out on the experimental group and the control group’s class-related academic emotions before and after the intervention.Results:(1) The different grade level students’ class-related academic emotions exist significant difference;(2) Emotion regulation was associated with class-related academic emotions significantly, and positive emotion regulation positively predicted positive emotions;(3) There were no distinct difference in the test both in terms of positive emotions and negative emotions for the control group.(4)After solution-focused group counseling, on each dimension,the positive emotion score of the experimental group was significantly increased, and the negative emotions was significantly reduced.Conclusions:(1) The different grade level students’ class-related academic emotions exist significant differences, students with poor grades were in a worse emotional state than students with good grades.(2) The emotion regulation mode directly predicted students’ class-related academic emotions, positive adjustment way positively predict positive emotions.(3) Solution-focused group counseling was effective in improving students’ class-related emotional state, it made their positive mood increased,and the negative mood fell. |
