Self-acceptance is an important part of self-consciousness which is closely related to personal mental health and development.A person fully accepting oneself can evaluate himself objectively and improve himself constantly,surpass himself and to ultimately achieve self-realization.In my daily mental work of teaching and practice,I find that there are a lot of higher vocational students’ self-acceptance level is very low.Through consulting relevant literature,I find that the articles with special attention on the condition of higher vocational students’ self-acceptance are very few in the previous studies.Because of my limited ability,I can’t find relevant literature that combine solution-focused brief counseling with group counseling.In this paper,the application of solution-focused group counseling into studying higher vocational college students’ self-acceptance can establish the innovative mode of guiding higher vocational students’ self-acceptance,enrich mental health educational theory,and provide reference and guidance for overwhelming majority of workers who take up the concrete work of psychological health education,and foster technical and applicable talents of physical and mental health for society.During the research process,1097 students from Heilongjiang Agricultural Economy Vocational College were randomly chosen to accept the investigation of self-acceptance by use of Self Acceptance Questionnaire(SAQ).In this way,20 students as objects of research were selected from 1079 students.They were divided into experimental and control groups randomly,and 10 people in each group.The experimental group takes solution-focused group counseling while the control group receives no intervention.Control group is in a state of natural life.The design of ante-post,experimental-control group has been adopted.Quantitative research and qualitative analysis were used to evaluate the effect of solution-focused group counseling.Study results are found as follows:Solution-focused group counseling can promote self-acceptance of higher vocational students.It not only has an immediate effect on improving higher vocational students’ self-acceptance level but also it had persistent effect.Solution-focused group counseling is an effective method to promote self-acceptance of higher vocational students.Solution-focused group counseling theory can be applied to group counseling of higher vocational students’self-acceptance as the theoretical basis.Solution-focused group counseling can change the subjects’ self-acceptance level,which is related to the following factors:scientific group program,effective use of solution-focused brief counseling technology the leader’s guidance,and mutual encouragement among the members.Solution-focused group counseling program in the study is effective to promote self-acceptance.If this program can be modified well,it can be applied to school group counseling.
