AbstractMorality is the codes of conduct to regulate the relationship among people and people, the individual and the community, people and nature, as well as other kinds of existence; it is an important bond to link the whole society and the existence and development of human beings.With the rapid development of economy, nowadays, there are more and more temptations, which greatly challenge people's moral standards and principles. What's more, the rapid advancement of science and technology provides people with solid material foundation. However, it brings a series of moral and social issues. Therefore, it is of vital importance to improve people's moral standard.The stronger teenagers are, the more powerful our country will be. They are the most vigorous and shapeable. Their morality and healthy growth means the future and the hope of our country.Therefore, nowadays, moral education in elementary and secondary schools is a common concern.Japan and China are close neighbors, in spite of Japanese rapid development after World War II and Japanese reaction to affairs at home and abroad. All people can't help but feel shocked at the education and moral level of its people. So this paper, by exploring moral education in elementary and secondary schools, hopes to offer a good reference for the revolution in our country.This paper consists of two parts: introduction and body. The body is made up of five chapters.Chapter 1: The definition of concepts and the analysis of theories about moral education in Japanese elementary and secondary schools. This chapter mainly defines some relevant concepts and then cards and analyzes the bases of theories about moral education in Japan from two aspects:Japanese native and some foreign ideologies. This is the basic part.Chapter 2: the investigation of the history and practice of Japanese moral education in Japanese elementary and secondary schools after World War II. In this chapter, according to the background and origin of Japanese moral education, the author makes a thorough inquiry of its formation and evolution. After that, the author illustrates the moral education practice in elementary and secondary schools after World War II. At last, the author demonstrates the important role moral education plays in the whole education of elementary and secondary schools in Japan. This is the main point of this paper.Chapter 3: the system of moral education in Japanese elementary and secondary schools after World War II. This chapter concentrates on the aim, basic principles and main methods on moral education in Japanese elementary and secondary schools after World War II, which makes reader understand the system of Japanese moral education. This is another main point of this paper.Chapter 4: the main contents and characteristics of Japanese moral education after World War II. This chapter separately discusses the main points of its moral education in elementary, junior and senior middle schools; and then summarizes its characteristics from the whole moral education. This is the third point of this research.Chapter 5: the assessment and implication from Japanese moral education. This chapter concludes the experience of Japanese moral education. The author hopes to improve moral education practice in our country, making up for the deficiency in the revolution of moral education in our country. This is also aimed at improving moral level of our students in elementary.Most importantly, the author hopes it can play an active part in achieving development.
