Research On Intelligence Work In China’s Overseas Counterterrorism Operations

With the deepening of opening to the outside world,China is becoming more and more closely connected with the world,and expanding overseas interests.At the same time,terrorism in the world also shows a tendency of spreading,and poses a serious threat to the whole international society.The security risk of China’s citizens,enterprises,relevant institutions,assets and other aspects abroad gradually increases.The protection of overseas interests has become increasingly prominent.It is of great significance for China to protect national interests and to fight against terrorists by taking positive measures such as overseas counterterrorism operations when necessary.The introduction of Counterterrorism Law of the People’s Republic of China provides a strong legal support and guarantee for China to carry out overseas counterterrorism operations.Intelligence is the key to the success of countererrorism operations.China’s overseas counterterrorism operations are bound to need intelligence as a support.Based on the intelligence work in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations as a research focus,and around the specific background of overseas counterterrorism,this paper is divided into seven parts.Among them,the first part is the introduction,which is the overall description of the significance of research,research status,research content and research method.The second part focuses on the role of intelligence work in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations.The third part analyzes the main forms of intelligence in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations.In the fourth part,the paper gives a detailed description of the ways of obtaining intelligence in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations from the following three aspects: access to public intelligence and secret intelligence,international cooperation and domestic intelligence support.The fifth part discusses two aspects of China’s overseas counterterrorism operations,which are intelligence arrangement and intelligence analysis.The sixth part analyzes that the intelligence work in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations may be confronted with the obstacles.The seventh part discusses the intelligence guarantee work in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations.Through the analysis of the lessons learned of the classic cases at home and abroad and the current situation,the paper summarizes operational methods and practices applicable to the intelligence work in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations,so that the intelligence work in China’s overseas counterterrorism operations can be carried out more effectively.
