The Study Of Non-governmental Organization Embed In Urban Community

With the development of modern social life,people are more dependent on the community.The community is playing more important role in economic,political,social and cultural.Today the community governance has been promoted to the strategic development of China.Non-governmental organizations is an important subject to participate community construction They provide community service,solve community problems,arouse the community social organizations’ vitality,meet the demand of the diversification of residents.Because the non-governmental organization itself has no profit-making ability,relying on the enterprise,government and foundations’ support.And these donors for funding community projects has just started,many non-governmental organizations in community develop very difficult.We need to think about,how non-governmental organizations to survive in the urban community?As a foreign thing what difficulties and conflicts can they meet in the community?What kind of future is the non-governmental organizations in the community?Non-governmental organization in community often experiences a unique growth process,and the embedded process not only includes the institutions interact the community in a long term,and integrate the agency’s mission and goals into the community system.But in practice,because of the complexity and exclusivity of the community subject,non-governmental organizations often face a lot of conflict and contradiction during embedding into communities.This study selects N agency in Nanjing as a case,it displays the panoramic process from encountering the community to embedding the community.It discusses the different stages of embeddedness separately according to the timeline,and explains from different types of embeddedness perspective.First of all,it describes JM community,N organization and the background entering the community field.Secondly,through the person in charge choosing the communities and negotiating,it discusses the cognitive differences between non-government organization and the government;Third,after describing the complex network community,it talks about ngos attempt to embed the community and the reflection and adjustment to improve relations with the community;Fourth,it describes the three typical cases and analyzes non-governmental organizations in the surface layer and deep logic in the process of structural embedded network;Finally it describes non-government organization’s results of embedding the community,including the mechanism establishing,community alliance,social influence,etc.,and summarizes and reflects on the applicability of the theory of embedded,the possibility of non-governmental organization embed ding into the community and culture.The research shows that:(1)the non-governmental organization encounters many challenges in many ways during embedding the community,and the embedding strategy will be different in different periods.Because the community residents’ committees dominate the community,non-governmental organizations need to use the identity and resources of it to carry out the work firstly,which is easy to form dislocation of management and service.On the other hand,non-governmental organizations are in the weakest place of resource chain.They are under the guidance of the government and the supervision of residents at the same time,which is easy to form the administrative guidance.(2)The embedding process to the community is also the process of reconfiguring the network of community relations.Non-governmental organizations change the original single management of community residents’ committees,they also been involved in a struggle for resources and interests.Non-governmental organizations need effective face conflict and contradiction,by adjusting the organization goal and organizational relationships,step by step forming good relations of cooperation and mutual benefit with each subject in the community.(3)There is tension when using the embedding theory in practice.By further subdividing the embeddedness,it is easier to understand the insufficiency of the four levels of embeddedness respectively both in theory and in practice,and verifies the applicability of the theory of embeddedness effectively.The process of non-governmental organizations entering the community has just begun,its role and status will be more and more important.The developing strategy and pattern of different types of non-governmental organizations in the community is not the same.The same social organizations need to adjust strategy in different types of communities according to local conditions.With the exploration of community governance reform in China is more and more mature,I believe there will be more cases of community innovation and social innovation in the future.
