Research On The Political Participation Of Returning Migrants From The Perspective Of Embeddedness

At present,China vigorously pursue the strategy of rural revitalization,grass-roots political construction is an important link in the strategy of rural revitalization.Returning migrants as an important subject in grass-roots political participation,understanding the current situation of their political participation in their hometown and analyzing the influencing factors affecting the political participation of returning migrants is particularly necessary.Under the background of the migration of farmers,this paper selects the embeddedness as the theoretical basis,divides the embeddedness into two dimensions :Structural embeddedness and relational embeddedness,Based on the field survey data of Hunan and Guizhou,by means of correlation analysis and regression analysis.Studying respectively in three aspects,the embeddedness level of the returning migrants,the willingness of the migrants in the political participation,the political participation willing transformed into behavior of returning migrants.Through data analysis and practical research experience,the study found that:The current situation of returning migrants ’ political participation.Specifically,from the willingness of returning migrants in political participation,returning migrants have the highest willingness to participate in electoral activities;The overall willingness of returning migrants to participate in politics is significantly lower than that of non-returning farmers.From the aspect of the political participation behavior of the returning migrants,the participation behavior of the returning migrants in the democratic election is the highest;the political participation behavior of the returning migrants in general is obviously lower than that of the non-returning farmers.From the aspect of the willingness of political participation and the fit of behavior,the fit of the willingness and behavior of the returning migrants is lower than 40% in all political activities,and the fit of willingness and behavior in the democratic decision-making activities is the lowest;the fit of the political willingness and behavior of the returning migrants is obviously lower than that of the non-returning farmers.Overall,there are three problems in returning migrants ’political participation: a low level of overall participation,narrow political participation,and no consistency in the willingness and participation of political participation.Factors influencing the political participation of returning migrants.In terms of the willingness of returning migrants to participate in politics,the level of political trust in structural embeddedness and community participation have a significant positive impact on the willingness of returning migrants in political participation,and the level of reciprocity in relational embeddedness has a significant positive impact on the willingness of returning migrants.In the aspect of the political participation behavior of returning migrants,the level of political trust and community participation in the structural embeddedness have a significant positive effect on the political participation behavior of the returning migrants.In terms of the fit of the political willingness and behavior of the returning migrants,the emotional intensity and the community participation has a significant positive effect on the fit of political willingness and behavior of the returning migrants.In general,structural embeddedness and relational embeddedness variables from an embeddedness perspective have a high explanatory power to the political participation of returning migrants.The participation of associations in structural embeddedness has a sustained and steady impact on the political participation of returning migrants,and has the greatest influence on the political participation behavior of returning migrants.The level of political trust in structural embeddedness has a significant positive impact on the willingness of returning migrants to participate in politics,political participation behavior,and has a great influence on the political participation behavior of returning migrants.Political participation from the willingness to behavior has a more complex logic of action,in the actual political life,can’t take a "one-size-fits-all" initiative.The conclusion of this paper proves that the embeddedness perspective has applicability to the explanation of migrants ’ political participation,which proves the hypothesis that the embeddedness view is in the complex social relations of people’s behavior.At the same time,the embeddedness view provides a new path for the political willingness transformed to the behavior,and to promote the political participation of the returning migrants,should pay attention to the cultivation of the community organization and the construction of the personal interpersonal network,especially to cultivate a group of economic organizations to promote the political participation of the returning peasants...
