Britain in the 12~thh century experienced a relatively great social transformation.On the economy,the fast growing population join in the wave of pioneering for survival,and the pioneer movement also promoted the flow of social personnel.Original agricultural labor group differentiate into some new social stratum such as citizens,merchants and handicraftsmen.On the one side of social phenomenon,the urban recovery has undoubtedly injected vitality into the development of society,the circulation of goods and people have greatly accelerated.On the other side of culture,the emergence of universities have strengthened the group of intellectuals.And pioneering movement,translation movement and urban revival provided material,intellectuals and place for this Renaissance.The paper focuses on the achievements of England in this cultural movement,including the establishment of Oxford University and Cambridge University,the emergence of representative Gothic churches,the appearance of Humanistic secular literature.As a common guild of teachers and students,the importance of the university is not only reflected in the maintenance of the interests of the two,the promotion of the flow of social personnel,but also is a symbol of the progress of education in the country,and the monopoly of education has been broken.This is an important condition for the emergence of a flourishing cultural phenomenon.From the Rome style to the Gothic style,the architectural art of church is changed,and people's emotion turn to a more warm and secular direction.Compared with the church literature,the secular literature in Britain are included chivalrous literature and civil literature,they all focus on portraying characters or personified inner activities,and have a tendency of humanism.We are supposed to take a historical perspective to recognize the role played by England in the 12~thh Century Renaissance.Indeed,England in the period relies on the culture of European Mainland and it's worth noting that England in this Renaissance is also independent and innovative which commendably interprets English cultural uniqueness.It reformed The Carolingian Renaissance and also made material preparation for the Italy Renaissance.The 12~thh Century Renaissance of England no doubt made amazing contribution for British culture uniqueness and the bright civilization of the long history of mankind.
