Hildegard of Bingen(1098-1179) was the medieval German famous abbot.In thethe middle ages, female’s status was generally low, Hildegard was active in religiousand secular activities,not only a leader in the convent but also had a insight into theworld of spiritual mentor.Hildegard with her outstanding talent dabbling in theology,medicine, art and other fields.Her thoughts reflect her unique view on female, she hasdared to challenge the authority, practice her unique concept of female.This articlemainly through the Hildegard view on female’s performance in different areas toexplore the landmark female’s view of female.The full article is divided into five parts.The preface mainly introduces theresearch object of this article,summarized the current domestic and foreign researchstatus about Hildegard,and pointed out the academic value and realistic significanceof this article.The text consists of three parts.The first part analyses the background ofHildegard’s female view.From personal life background, social background andreligious background three aspects.The second part introduces Hildegard’s femaleview content.Respectively from the Angle of theology, art and practical level, genderAngle and practice analyse Hildegard’s female view.The third part analyses Hildegardparadox in view of female.On the one hand she was influenced by the traditionalfemale view, had a certain conservative.On the other hand, her implicit consciousnessof female was the intangible challenges to the tradition.Last part, the article describedthe view of Hildegard’s female influence on the middle ages and later. Conclusion partanalyses the success of Hildegard and pointed out the Hildegard’s female viewcontained in the difference between the female consciousness and the modern feminist,avoid excessive imposed upon her meaning.
