It existed a length of period that hadn't attract enough attention in the academic circles,it was the cultural development history from twelfth to thirteenth century of the Western Europe.Since affected by the Enlightenment thinkers' sayings,the traditional view of "the darkness of Middle Ages" and "the reactionary church" once overflowed in the historian domain widely,but it was not true.It's demonstrated by much western historical sources,the society possessed advanced economy and fulled with vigour in the eleventh century,which laid a foundation on the cultural revolution undoubtly.The Renaissance of the Twelfth century which discuss,was the reflection of social changes in the cultural domain.Its sence overturned our previous thought of medieval ages,played a key role in the European History.In terms of social total development situation,it was great advanced than former of Western Europe around the twelfth century.The incrsease of population stimulated the progress of productivity,and made the handicraft industry and commerce began to flourishing.The Crusades promoted the cultural exchange between the Western Europe and the Eastern Europe,it was such an eye opener to the former.Add to the influence of the Arab civilization,they constituted the foundation of The Renaissance of the Twelfth century jointly.It owned pretty much achievements,which caused positive influence on the whole society,also contained the Roman Catholic church,a special social group."The Donation of Pepin" began the Papal State's origination.After the several centuries of development to the church,it no longer performed the spirit function nearly.Otherwise,it expanded continuously,the social impaction had already touched multi-corners.Therefore,when studying The Renaissance of the Twelfth century,we shouldn't ignore the analysis on church.The Roman Catholic church,who undergone this cultural movement,made some changes on several zones correspondingly,and then kept strength,its signifiance shouldn't be underestimated.This thesis is based on The Renaissance of the Twelfth century,put the function to the Roman Catholic church as the research centre,in order to ascertaine the duality of church which caused by The Renaissance of the Twelfth century.The whole text will be divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the synopsis.I will make a macroscopic summary of The Renaissance of Twelfth century,divided into three aspects specifically,including the definition of notion and period,anlysis on the origin as well as cultural expressions.It'll try to describe from several aspects,and lay a foundation for follow-up chapters.The second chapter is the kernel,I will stress the link between The Renaissance of the Twelfth century and the Roman Catholic church.The cultural movement had an comprehensive and profound effection on the church,say its ideological culture and economic ethics also had changed successively.This chapter not only analysis the transformation of the church simultaneously,but also make a preparation for summary and futher exploration on the next.The third chapter is the final chapter,also the conclusion,it follows the logical thinking by the previous two chapters.Ground on the historical precondition of The Renaissance of the Twelfth century,making an inquiry into the development of the Roman Catholic church after thirteenth century.What did The Renaissance of the Twelfth century influenced on the Western Europe society? How did it rebuild the Roman Catholic church? The concrete contents will be expanded according to that.
