The translation project report is the second part of Airbnb Story written by Fortune senior editor Leigh Gallagher,a book about how three ordinary guys disrupted an industry, created the concept of sharing house and made billions as well as plenty of controversy. This translation project aims to explore the reasons for the success of the sharing economy model represented by the Airbnb Housing Leasing website,to provide a reference for the development of China's shared economy and for entrepreneurs in China.According to Peter Newmark's typology theory, the source text belongs to the information text.Under the guidance of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory, the original style and characteristics of the source text are reproduced to the greatest extent by the translator. It is hoped that the original reader and the target reader can have similar reading experiences. The author analyzes the type and characteristics of the original text and illustrates the difficulties encountered in the translation process and the corresponding translation strategies and translation measures. These difficulties include the translation of professional terms, the translation of synthesized words, and the translation of long sentences, etc. In addition to elaborate methods, the author provides a large number of examples in order to provide reference for the further study of such texts.
