The Study Of Fang Fengchen

Fang Fengchen(1221-1291),one of the foremost person in the test of facing to the emperor in the Southern Song Dynasty(1250).Then,he took the national history editor and the assistant minister of the official.After the death of the southern Song Dynasty,he taught in the academy of Shixia.Kublai khan called him repeatedly,he all refused in the period of his later life.He is having the Collection of"Jiaofeng"and"MingWuMengQiu".As an official,he is incorruptible and his works are bold and vigorous.The thesis,including four chapters,will be discussed from two aspects:the life of Fang Fengchen and his works.Chapter one mainly researches the lifetime of Fang Fengchen,including his family background;social circle and works.In this section,firstly,it points out Fengchen's family genealogy by researching local chronicles,genealogies and epitaphs.Secondly,it introduces his works.At last,The article analyses Fang Fengchen's social circle,and his friendship objects included the elder and fellows.Their intercourse not only concerned about political but also had literary collisions.Chapter two mainly discusses the content and artistic characteristics of Fang Fengchen's poems.The subjects of poetry of Fang Fengchen are rich,which include wall poems,communication poems,allegorical poems,Object-Chanting poems and realistic poems,etc.The genres of poetry are various.Fang Fengchen is good at writing Lv Shi with seven words,which have neat and perfect antithesis.Besides,his poems are full of historical allusions.Chapter three mainly discusses the content and artistic characteristics of FangFengchen's prose.The article divides the essays of Fang Fengchen into four categories,which contain political essays,miscellany articles and epitaphs articles,from those three different themes.As a philosopher,Fang Fengchen has the consciousness of hardship,his essays can be compared to" autumn frost and burning sun".All his miscellany essays are forceful and quaint and also full of graceful language and artistic concept.Chapter four mainly researches the academic and thoughts of Fang Fengchen's works.Fang Fengchen's writings are mostly scattered and lost,but them have strong ties to social politics of Southern Song Dynasty,He involves ZhouYi into his works and combines the ancient classics with the society of the Southern Song Dynasty.His works are the product of the Yi-ology thought.Besides,it points out his education views by researching his educational teleology and methodology.And the thought reflected in the preface of poetry is the result of development of Neo-confucianism.
