Chronicle Of Fang Fengchen

Fang Fengchen,whose courtesy name is “Junci”,and literary name is “Jiaofeng”,was born in Chun'an country.He is a politician,a philosopher,an educator and also good at literature.He served emperor Lizong and Duzong until the Song Dynasty was destroyed.Then he refused to become an official anymore,but teaching and writing in the academy of classical learning called “Shi Xia”.Until now,the only systematic study of Fang Fengchen is a master's thesis,but its appendix “Concise Chronicle of Fang Fengchen” is too brief to show the life and creations of him.In order to accomplish this aim,I examine and correct all of the protagonist's materials,then arrange them by year in this chronicle.Furthermore,Jiaofeng is the typical representative of the scholar class and lived from the Southern Song Dynasty to the prime Yuan Dynasty,he can represent the scholars for the time.So I add two columns of “current events” and “current people”,by which we can investigate the protagonist under the social background and compare with the other scholars of contemporaneity.This thesis consists of two parts,the first is exordium which introduce the outline,innovations,methods and the present research about this theme.The second is chronicle of Fang Fengchen,including the guide before the chronicle and a graph of Fang's genealogy.The chronicle is composed of “current events”,chronology,“current people” and footnotes.
