An Analysis Report On C-E Consecutive Interpretation Practicefrom The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

Mobile phone,continuously upgraded within a short period,always remains a hot product.IPhone6 launch event offered Chinese simultaneous interpretation for the first time,attracting great attention both at home and abroad.Our domestic products like Huawei,Xiaomi have also entered the overseas markets.This means that it will be a common case that more and more interpreters are needed for launch events.This thesis is devoted to the C-E consecutive speech interpretation of the Honor V8 launch event from the perspective of the Interpretive Theory.The speech,by the keynote speaker George Zhao,showcased the design and performance of Honor V8.Previous studies mainly focused on the interpretation of IPhone launch events.Comparatively speaking,due attention should be paid to that of our domestic mobile phone brands launch events.The Interpretive Theory,represented by ESIT and Danica Seleskovitch,was established in the 1980 s.It requires that the Meaning Equivalence and the Emotional Equivalence should be balanced in the interpretation process while the message should be conveyed clearly.Due to its ever-perfecting framework and content,the Interpretive Theory exerts a profound great impact on interpreting studies and practice.This thesis discusses and analyzes the interpreting difficulties and responding skills.Guided by the Interpretive Theory,the writer did C-E consecutive interpretation,including preparation,case analysis and reflection.The language of George Zhao is lengthy and chatty,thus five interpretive skills are proposed in this thesis and each case using different skills is analyzed.A reflection on deficiencies of this interpretation is also made.To conclude,what have been obtained from this interpretation practice and deficiencies of this paper are also outlined.
