A Study Of EST Interpretation From The Perspective Of The Interpretive Theory

At present,more and more scientific and technological products have gradually come into people's vision and make people's daily life more convenient.Many technological companies will immediately promote their products to customers in different countries around the world through holding the product launch event.Therefore,simultaneous interpretation of scientific and technological product launch event has naturally attracted people's attention,which also provides favorable conditions for the development of EST(English for Science and Technology)interpretation.Under this circumstance,the study of the EST interpretation is conducive to enriching the relevant academic studies and in line with the practical needs.As one of the most frequently cited theories in translation studies,the Interpretive Theory is widely used in interpreting practice and teaching.The Interpretive Theory emphasizes the transfer of communicative sense in the process of interpretation and has a strong guiding significance for interpreting practice.In this thesis,the Interpretive Theory is used to analyze and study the simultaneous interpretation of Apple's 2018 September launch event.The corpus in this thesis comes from Sina Tech,which is corrected sentence by sentence in combination with video resources in order to maximize the restoration of simultaneous interpretation at launch event.On the basis of carefully watching the live simultaneous interpretation of Apple's launch event and transcribing the interpretation,this thesis analyzes the embodiment and application of the Interpretive Theory in the EST interpretation from the three levels of word,sentence and discourse.Through the analysis of the Interpretive Theory and the study of scientific and technological corpus,this thesis concludes that the Interpretive Theory is of guiding significance to the EST interpretation,and the Triangular Model of the Interpretive Theory enables the interpreters to have rules to follow in the process of interpretation and achieve better interpreting effects.While accumulating relevant professional knowledge and understanding different cultures,the EST interpreters can optimize the interpreting process and constantly improve their interpreting level by combining theory with practice.In addition,through the analysis of the embodiment and application of the Interpretive Theory in the practice of the EST interpretation,this thesis aims to provide some references for the study of the EST interpretation.
