Research On Wang Xizhi’s Regular Script In Small Characters

Wang Xizhi who is the most famous calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty is good at all kinds of calligraphy,and eventually becomes a home after learning widely from others’ strong points.His calligraphy achievements mainly embodies in the new body.On the basis of Zhong You,Wang Xizhi’s regular script in small characters makes the moral standard of regular script more perfect.What’s more,he creates new style of regular script and has great profound influence on regular script.However,people often praise highly on his running hand and grass writing and neglect the artistic value of his regular script in small characters.This paper takes Wang Xizhi characters as the main line,trys to analyze the causes of his small artistic style in terms of background,family and calligrapher’s subjective factors,and trys to understand his artistic style.Research techniques like literature research method and comparative approach will be used to compare Zhong You and Wang Xizhi’s regular script in small characters according to the works of small strokes,structure and composition,which focus on the interpretation of the influence of Wang Xizhi on the creation of small characters and development.
