The Analysis Of Regular Script In Small Characters’ Works

The discovery of the Dunhuang Scriptures provided new blood for the development and research of regular script in small characters.The Northern Wei Dynasty scripture writing is an important node in the calligraphy of the scripts,where the calligraphy is changed from official script to regular script.Its transformation features are obvious,which fully reproduces the artistic development state of calligraphy.This thesis takes Northern Wei Dynasty of Dunhuang scriptures as the research object.On the basis of previous studies,studying the Northern Wei Dynasty’s "The Great Nirvana Sutra of the Buddha" and other scriptures,combed their characteristic of stroke,structure,and composition.Focussing the problems in the process of creation,and summarized the following three inspirations: firstly,the calligraphy needs to be traced to the source,and the rhyme of its style comes from Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty,The writing script of regular script in small characters follows the simplicity of Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty and at the same time it can try to explore its regular script meaning’ characteristics;secondly,the writing script of regular script in small characters’ creation is based on proficiency in the process from copy to creation;thirdly,the writing of regular script in small characters emphasize the written expression of "book for heart painting",which should embody the unity of artistry and emotionality.
