A Report On Interpreting At Hebei Satellite Conference Of China International Technology Transfer Convention 2016

Globalization has become an inevitable trend as the world develops through scientific and technological exchanges where international cooperation has become one of the most important strategies for building a powerful,high-tech province.On November 18,2016,the Hebei Satellite Conference of China International Technology Transfer Convention was held by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the people's Republic of China.The sponsors of the convention included the Beijing Municipal People's Government,the Science and Technology Department of Hebei Province,the Science and Technology Bureau of Shijiazhuang City,and the Hi-tech Industry Development Zone of Shijiazhuang.This report consists of four chapters.The first chapter introduces the entrustment unit,the clients,and the task requirements.The second chapter is about the description of the interpretation process followed by the summary and reflection.The author introduces the preparation,process and the summary of this practice.The third chapter is the case analysis which is the most important part in this report.The author mainly analysis the practice cases,the problems,solving strategies and theories during the interpreting task.The author divides the problems into four types: specialized knowledge,accent aims,inter-cultural communication and language processing.The German expert has strong accent which is very different from English,so there are some problems related with accent during interpretation.This is one of the most worthy parts for the author to think over and summarize.In the process,the author solves the problem of language processing by using interpretive theory,amplification,sub-translation and omission.The last chapter is a summary of the practice of escort interpreting and the enlightenment brought by this practical work.Based on the practice of escort interpretation,this paper analyzes and summarizes the problems that arise during interpretation in the field of mechanical and electrical products in an effort to create a reference for interpreters in the field of science and technology.
