In recent years,with the diversified development of multimedia technology,the electronic products that attract children are emerging in an endless stream.However,the problems brought by the electronic products,such as impairment on children's eyesight,are worried.Therefore,more parents begin to pay attention to training children's paper reading thus all kinds of picture books are springing up like bamboo shoots.The traditional paper books were threatened by the new reading form,electronic books which have more abundant form and stronger interaction.To get the favors of children,the traditional paper books should not only to innovation in the theme and content,but also to fit the children's psychology on the picture.Begin with the two aspects of "picture book design" and "child participatory design",we analyzed the basic methods of inspiration acquisition in the picture books design and the necessity and feasibility of children participating in the process.Then,a"Completing-Drawing-and-Text Approach" was obtained by combining the child participatory design with picture book design.Firstly,the necessity of the research,the concept of picture books,the flow chart of the picture book design,the progression of the children's participatory design were discussed and then the research method and experiment were designed.Secondly,we combined the theory with practice by organizing experiments in a primary school.The "Completing-Drawing-and-Text Approach" was implemented by 38 fourth grade children with a tutor in the Primary school of Hunan University.The professional evaluation by experts,Paired t test,Pearson correlation analysis and other statistical tools were adopted to review closely the experimental data.The usage of"graphic completion method" in child participatory design can effectively promote the children visual output and improve the output quality.At last,the author extracted and applied the children's output in the re-design of children's picture book,which has been received positive evaluation from experts,parents and children.
