In 2018,Xinhua News Agency was authorized to release "Several Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and State Council on Deepening Reform and Standardizing Development of Preschool Education".Opinions put forward: preschool education is the beginning of lifelong learning.To do a good job of preschool education and to realize the education of young children is related to the healthy growth of hundreds of millions of children,social harmony and stability,and the future of the Party and the national cause.2021,the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education organized100 experts in preschool education,children’s literature,illustration,thinking and politics and other neighborhoods to select books for young children and released 347 kinds of books for young children,of which 30 picture books selected are based on Chinese original classic picture books.The themes cover many aspects of children’s growth such as emotional development.This dissertation consists of five chapters: In the first chapter,the author compares the research directions,research methods,research logic,types of results,and application effectiveness of "emotional" and "picture book" related research topics through the literature review method,and determines the purpose and significance of writing the dissertation.The purpose and significance of the thesis are determined.In the second chapter,considering the differences in education policies,concepts and environments at home and abroad,the author adopts an online + offline approach,focusing on the reading characteristics of the domestic 2-7 year old readers and the current situation of picture book publishing,summarizing the problems and risks in the selection,market positioning,creation,design,publishing and distribution of picture books for this age group,and clearly using the "Norman three levels" and the "book design theory" to identify the problems and risks of picture books."and "book design theory" as the underlying logic to solve the problem.In the third chapter,we study the application of Norman’s Three Levels theory to other design problems,and propose design strategies to mobilize children’s interest in reading,strengthen children’s independent creation,and build children’s emotional resonance based on the analysis of the commonalities and differences of the excellent picture book works selected by experts.Chapter 4,from the perspective of the application of the intersection of cognitive psychology and design theory,combined with the author’s picture book creation and award-winning experience,analyzes the target positioning,design logic,and design methods of high-quality picture books.Chapter 5 reflects on the necessity of "emotional" picture book design for young children through the evaluation of the factors and dimensions that affect the reading experience and psychological needs of young children with emotionally designed picture books.This issue analyzes the multiple challenges faced by the birth of great picture books.Because of the enormous impact of picture books on human cognition and development in early childhood,the authors use Norman’s three-level theory to explore a series of problems in picture book design for young children,to raise the benchmarks of picture book editing,narrative,and visual expression,and to inspire fellow designers to create quality picture books that meet the reading and emotional needs of young children,respond to the cognitive developmental characteristics of young children,enhance their generic abilities,and improve their aesthetic literacy picture books.
