Socialism was introduced into China at the end of the 19 th century.The initial propagation scope is limited and has not had a wide impact.The First World War changed this phenomenon.China not only saw the climax of propaganda socialism,but also the domestic intellectuals took socialism as the way out of Chinese society.The emergence of Socialism in China after the First World War was a result of the combination of many factors.Firstly,the evolution of "natural selection and fittest survival" was questioned.People gradually realize the theory of evolution,which is characterized by the survival competition.It provides the ideological basis for imperialism and power.This concept under countries competing with each other,eventually leading to the outbreak of the First World War.Cruel war makes people seeking peaceful,mutual aid society.Thus,mutual aid theory is widely publicized by Chinese people.Socialism with mutual aid,equality and freedom is the new direction of intellectual exploration.Secondly,the First World War broke the Chinese belief in western civilization.The western civilization which based on social Darwinism has been questioned after the First World War,tending to re-examine the western civilization and the capitalist system,people found that there is difficult to overcome the drawbacks of the western civilization,which began to break the blind of the western civilization,according with the Socialism of the development of the national requirements development.Thirdly,the October Revolution provided Chinese intellectuals with the possibility of Socialism.The October Revolution not only allowed Chinese people to see the contradictions itself,but also witnessed the steady development of Russia under the Socialism,which helped deepen Chinese understanding of socialism.In addition,the domestic new intellectual group and the growth of the labor are as the foundation of the development of the Socialism in China.The movement of Socialism in other countries prompted China’s choice of Socialism.
