The thought of world history occupies an important position in the system of Marxism ,which from the specific P.O.V in the course of historic development, shows both the tendency and the princinples of the so-called "history turning to world history" and consistutes an important part of both mterialist historical P.O.V and scientific socialism. It's also an important criterion and methodology for Marx to hold the historic development of mankind. It places strong emphasis on the point of world-wide interaction in the historic development of mankind based on the fact that capitalist way of production is capable of "history turning toward world history";It discloses the accelerating part that mutual use and imitation of civilization for reference have taken in the historic process ,hence accounting for the historic tendency that history is likely to develop by leaps and bounds ever since the capitalist way of production is established. This has provided a theoretical guide to analyzing contemporary globalization, its motive ,mechanism as well as its ultimate dicrection in which it develops and the prospect and fate of socialism under the same background. At present globalization is an objective reality,The world has developed into one entity politically, economically and culturally. Any country will be confronted with the same kind of problems that are occurring in any other. With the oncoming era of "knowledge economy" and the development of IT and electronic technology, the problem of globalization has affected not only human practice but the theoretic thinking of mankind, and become a problem of common corncern by all countries. This also presents new opportunities and challenges to the development of Marxist philosophy. We should see that as a theoretic basis for globalization, many of its basic viewpoints remain effective, though thereAbstractstill exist so many differences between globalization and world history foreseen by Carl Marx. Therefore,it has become an urgent theoretic problem to be solved ,in the new century ,as to how to analyze the historic machanism of globalization by Marx's thonght of world history and how to point out a brillant approach to the development of both mankind and socialism.
