Adverbs are the focus and the difficulties of the study in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language,but the study of adverbs is limited in the Chinese materials.There are different selection numbers,scopes and levels in different Chinese materials,which makes students have the different levels in the same stage and influences the teaching effect.So,this paper chooses two sets of Chinese textbook.One is the Development of Chinese(second edition)Comprehensive Series of Teaching Materials redacted by LiQuan,which is published in Beijing Language and Culture University press in 2001,and the other one is Chinese Textbook(revised edition)redacted by Yang Jizhou,which is published in Beijing Language and Culture University press in 2006.This paper chooses the Outline of HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level as defined standard,and uses the methods of corpus research,literature material,contrast analysis to study several aspects,which include adverbs number,rank interpretation,classification,content and methods of interpretation and practice.By comparing the similarities and differences among the two materials,this paper analyzes the problems existing in the adverbs of compilation in Chinese as a foreign language material.From the quantity of the adverbs of the two materials,the Development of Chinese(second edition)is more coincident to the principle of systematization and is conducive to rise steadily.From the rank of the adverbs,the Development of Chinese(second edition)is more coincident to requirements of the vocabulary level of the Outline of HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level.While the quantity of the Chinese textbook(revised edition)is fewer,the rank is not corresponding with the outline of HSK vocabulary and Chinese Character Level and includes more part fours.In the aspect of the order of the different types of the adverbs,the Development of Chinese(second edition)is more coincident to the Outline of HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level,but the two materials is coincident to the Outline of HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level.In the aspect of the the quantity of the different types of the adverbs,the two materials have their advantages and disadvantages,and have some differences with tthe Outline of HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level,but the Development of Chinese is more coincident to the othe Outline of HSK Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level.In the aspect of the way of translation of the adverbs,the Development of Chinese increase Chinese annotation step by step,while the Chinese textbook only uses the English annotation.In the aspect of thetranslation,the problem exists in these two materials is that the same adverbs have different annotations.The second annotation of the polysemant promotes Chinese difficulty in these two materials,which is benefit to promote the level of the Chinese.Practice is plentiful and promotes the difficulty step and step in these two materials.Through a detailed comparison,this paper shows the advantages and disadvantages of two sets of teaching materials,I hope what this paper has showed is able to provide data support and experience for teaching Chinese as a foreign language materials.
