This paper selects the teaching material Hanyu(Revision)revised and published by College of Chinese Language and Culture,Jinan University and widely used in Chinese language schools in Indonesia currently as the research object,takes the cultural connotation reflected in the teaching material as the breakthrough point,discusses the applicability of teaching of the Chinese cultural contents in this textbook to the lower grade students in Indonesia,explores the cultural teaching methods,and provide some references for the cultural background teaching method as well as the use and improvement of teaching material in international Chinese teaching.For the sake of simplicity,the name of the textbook mentioned below is Hanyu.This paper mainly studies the cultural connotation in the teaching material,takes literature on cultural teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and teaching theories related to cultural teaching both at home and abroad as the overall theoretical basis,and uses literature research method,quantitative research method and the research method combining theory with practice for analysis and research.The innovation of the article is that it takes the current teaching material Hanyu as the starting point,discusses the contents of cultural background teaching for Chinese beginners,and puts forward the effective cultural teaching methods in teaching practice by combining actual teaching and analyzing specific cases.There are total five chapters including introduction of this paper.The introduction mainly systematically introduces the research purpose,significance and object of this paper,introduces the literature related to the language and cultural teaching research at home and abroad,and also introduces the main research methods of this paper.Chapter ? mainly discusses the significance of cultural teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from cultural definition,cultural teaching connotation and potential significance in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,cultural contents in Hanyu and other aspects.The characteristics of cultural content arrangement in the teaching material are summarized through introducing the teaching material Hanyu as well as making statistical analysis on the distribution of cultural contents in the teaching material.Chapter ? mainly discusses how to use Hanyu to strengthen cultural teaching.This paper puts forward what contents should be selected according to the cultural background of the lower grades through discussing the strategies of language teaching and cultural teaching.This paper also puts forward the cultural teaching methods suitable for lower grade students through studying the classroom teaching cases of the first and second grade students in Indonesian New Chinese Three Language School in the process of using Hanyu.Chapter ? puts forward the suggestions on use and improvement of the teaching material Hanyu in accordance with the use of teaching material and integrating the contents of the above two chapters.Chapter ?,conclusion not only summarizes the full text,but also objectively analyzes the shortcomings of the article.
