Interpreting Practice Report On “AEG—Urumqi Market Exchange Seminar ”

With the proposal and implementation of“The Belt and Road Initiative”in recent years,Xinjiang possess great potential in terms of economic and cultural undertakings,as well as far-raging market influence.AEG——Urumqi Market Exchange Seminar is a part of the market strategies of AEG to establish and branches and exploit market in Xinjiang,which is endorsed by AEG headquarter,electric research institute of Xinjiang,marketing representatives and professional visitors.In this seminar,I participated as a consecutive interpreter for Fred,the chief engineer of AEG.This report is under the guidance of Interpretive Theory,the core concept of which is as follows: If interpreting itself is defined as a communicative language,then the original material to be translated should be communicative as well.Therefore,deverbalization should be used in the process of interpreting to grasp the inherent meaning,but not just linguistically interpret words and sentence one by one,which is also the quintessence and essence of Interpretive Theory.Guided by The Interpretive Theory,the report makes an analysis of examples from the interpreting practice by means of four kinds of translation methods including addition,omission,adaptation and conversion.It also includes some fault cases and the corrective solutions.The cases are mainly from conference interpreting recording material.Hopefully,striving direction in can be cleared,and also aspiration can be brought to study and life in the future.
