A Report On E-C Translation Of Huanqic Tech News From The Perspective Of The Adaptation Theory

Tech news translation is of crucial importance in delivering the latest information in technology and popularizing the scientific knowledge.Due to different cultural backgrounds,Chinese and English tech news show notable discrepancy on their diction,syntactic structures and overall textual styles,which has caused various impedimenta for tech news translation.Adaptation theory holds that language users can make flexible choices and adaptations to fulfill the communicative purpose on account of language-internal or language-external reasons.On this basis,this report seeks to solve the problems at the lexical,syntactic and cultural level of E-C tech news translation from the perspective of the adaptation theory.This report probes into the contextual adaptability and structural adaptability in tech news translation.Under the guidance of the adaptation theory,some feasible translation methods,such as literal translation,free translation,substitution translation,are utilized in the hope to provide references for further studies of tech news translation and enrich the reading experience of tech news readers.
