With the rapid development of China's education cause,collision and impact of different education culture becomes increasingly obvious,the related text translation of teacher education is becoming more and more important.Secondary school education in our country is developing forward continuously,and it has made some achievements,but a few problems and some challenges,as teachers are the main body of education,especially in the first line of teachers,what kind of quality should teachers need in the act of education,this is a very important and serious problem.In this background,the author choose the book which is written by the American writer Robert W.Maloy and Irving Seidman as the translation task,its English name is The Essential Career Guide to Becoming a Middle and High School Teacher.This book is an influential teacher guide book,the work is mainly composed of nine chapters,not only to guide you how to become a high school teacher,but also talked about the current situation of education in the United States,advice and guidance for future teachers are profound and practical.This book is a veritable teaching yellow pages,a large number of examples and experience to verify its authenticity.The book provided important resources and the basis about high school teachers' career planning,the education association,state teachers' salary and institutions of higher learning teacher certification.Book showed the process of essential to become a high school teacher,answered the problems,explained many confusions the future teachers will encounter,analyzed the present situation and problems of education in the United States.This report is composed of five parts,the first part introduces the origin of translation,the second part introduces the translator's translation process,the third part introduces the use of translation theory,the fourth part introduces the translation theory in the translation practice of The Essential Career Guide to Becoming a Middle and High School Teacher,the fifth part introduces the author's translation practice and enlightenment.It is a non-literature informative text.During the translation task,the translator mainly adopted Peter Newmark's Text Type Theory as the theoretical guideline and Peter Newmark's Communicative Translation as the strategy to deal with the translation.Also the translator analyzed the text from semantics,sentence and discourse with the change of vocabulary,words increase or decrease,free translation;syntactic level with the sequence,literal translation,in sequence method;textual level with the textual cohesion and textual discourse coherence.It is hoped that this practice report can afford some useful suggestions for translation practice of similar kinds of texts.
