A Report On Interpreting Practice Of Shaoxing-Hangzhou Refined Oil Pipeline Handover Meeting

As an important material foundation for human's survival and development,the energy is a key part of the national economy and people's wellbeing.The goal for this project is to transport the refined oil from Shaoxing oil depot to Hangzhou,which will reduce the pressure of oil supply in Xiaoshan airport and Hangzhou.At the same time,this project will ensure the energy supply for G20.The guided theory for this interpreting work is the theory-interpretive theory.This theory was put forward by Professor Seleskovitch and some scholars from other universities.The translation processes of theory-interpretive theory are as follows: understanding the original text,going beyond the original text,expressing it with the targeted language.The author adopted the some interpreting methods,such as amplification,omission,free translation,translation of passive voice.The body of this article is divided into five parts: chapter one is the introduction of this project,which mainly includes the background,introduction,meaning,characteristics and difficulties of this interpreting task;chapter two is about the interpretation process,in which the author highlights the pre-interpreting preparation;chapter three is the core of this paper: in this part,the author further elaborates the theory-interpretive theory which is the guided theory for this interpreting work.This chapter mainly introduces the origin of this theory,its working process,translation principles and translation strategies;chapter four is the combination of the theory and practice to analyze the typical examples in this practice;chapter five is about conclusions and enlightenment.Through analyzing the typical examples,the author combine the theory and practice for getting more great experience,and training good psychological quality.In the end,the author wishes to be better next time,and sincerely hopes this paper can offer good suggestions to other interpreting learners.
