In the present study of Marxism,Western Marxism is one of the most active and vigorous schools in the field of the study of Marxism.Among them,the Ecological Marxism is a very important part of the sense of the times and representation.The Ecological Marxism is a strong response to the call of the times in style with its ecological concerns,the current ecological criticism of capitalism,the exploring Marx's ideas of ecology,and a positive outlook on Ecological Socialism.John Bellamy Foster is a typical representative of the field of Ecological Marxism.This paper is aim to explain Foster's Ecological Marxism thoughts in order to master the internal structure of Ecological Marxism and exploring its contemporary significance.This paper consists of six parts,the introduction,the first,second,third,and the fourth chapter and the conclusion.The introduction summarizes the research status of Ecological Marxism both at home and abroad,as well as the main ideas of Foster,and the purpose of this paper.The first,second,third chapter analyze Foster's main ideas successively: First,Foster expounded the opposite relationship between capitalism and ecology.The nature of capitalism — pursuing for profit and accumulation— determines that the contradiction is inevitable between capitalism and ecology.Through revealing the hypocrisy nature of green industrial revolution and critiquing the technology myth and natural capital fantasy,Foster proved that,without touching the nature of capitalism under the reform,it is impossible to completely solve the ecological crisis.Next,Forster turned to Marx's ecology,seeking the theory origin and logic support of the ecological thoughts in Marxism,and discusses the materialist view of nature and history from the aspect of theory.Foster deeply critiqued the core idea of the Ecological Marxism—the Metabolic Rift,and elaborated “the Marx's ecology “comprehensively,laying the foundation for the next step of the prospect of ecological revolution.Finally,Forster argued that,it must be ecological revolution thoroughly and fundamental towards to the capitalist,in order to reform capitalism "pedal wheel mill production mode” and the structural immoral of socialization,promoting universal freedom and the eventual establishment of ecological socialism,establishing a harmonious relationship between man and nature to solve the ecological crisis.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the significance and value of this theory to coping with the environmental crisis and the construction of beautiful China.At the last,the conclusion summarizes the whole thesis,summarizes the main viewpoints of Ecological Marxism represented by Foster's thoughts,and reiterates the significance of this theory to the construction of ecological civilization in china.
