Foster’s Ecological Marxist Theory And It’s Significance To China

Human society has strived to strike a harmonious balance to coexist with the nature. Today, ecological crisis has already become the focus of global problems. With Forster as the representative, the analysis of causes and solutions of the ecological crisis of American Ecological Marxism Theory has become an independent school out of Western eco-political theories. As an important theorist of contemporary Western Marxism, Foster’s ecological theory is obviously the product of the serious ecological crisis of capitalist society, which is rooted in the ecological thought of Marxism and the ecological theory of contemporary Western Marxist. Based on the characteristics of global ecological crisis, Foster explored and discovered the ecological principle of Marx’s thought, based on which the reconstruction of Marx’s Theory of Metabolism Rift was realized. This theory is the important theory foundation of Marx’s capitalism ecological critics. On this basis, Forster launched comprehensive ecological critics against the capitalist system, which has become the core of Marx’s ecological theory. China, as the largest socialist country in the world, coincides with Foster in terms of their principles to solve ecological problems. Therefore, at this present moment where our pollution issues is at its most critical stage, we should learn from Foster’s theory and try to tackle this serious environmental problem from a new perspective.
