| This is a report on the basis of English-to-Chinese translation practice.The original text is the Chapter 7 ‘Translation and Trust' of Translation in Global News written by Esperanca Bielsa and Susan Bassnett.It illustrates the veracity of news and its translation with the reports of Dianna's death and Saddam's trial as examples.Under ‘Functional Equivalence' theory,the report takes the usage of both domestication and foreignization to translate Chapter 7.The rendering is beneficial to studies in global news translation.Theory books of global news translation are deficient in China.Translation in Global News eases the above problem and enriches theories of global news translation in China.Features of original text,translating process and framework are illustrated in the report.Through the case analysis,it is found that identification of translation purpose as well as analysis of sentences structures of original text and differences between English and Chinese imply effort to improve the quality of translation and make it be free from confinement of structures in source text.In the end,the paper points out the implications of this transltion practice,setting foundation for further practice and study. |
