In different areas of the world there are few certain methods to fix sounds in written form. Through these methods we can understand the social mind and personal habits. The system of Chinese mind expression is symbolic and pictographic. One character is one symbol. This is a part of Chinese characters’ beauty. Chinese characters are important part of Chinese culture which has history of thousands years. Through this type of research we can understand Chinese history, the development of Chinese mentality and language. Chinese language and characters are definitely understood from different angles by Chinese and foreigner.“Analysis of Chinese characters” published by Vasilev is a research on Chinese characters made by Russian sinologist.The original book is a handwriting of 19 th century, all characters in his work are written by hand, that’s why for Russian person is not easy to recognize the text, and the meaning can be found only according to the context. The book was not republished twice, that’s why the sequence of my work is done in following way: to convert written form to electronic form, after that translate to Chinese, to systemize, to make analysis, and to research its theoretical value and practical meaning. The main idea of “Analysis of Chinese characters” is to research the structure of Chinese characters and methods to search them in dictionary, characters’ keys and systematization of characters. Vasilev made a research and described 6 categories of Chinese characters which are: pictograms, ideograms, combined ideograms, transfer characters, pictophonetic characters and phonetic loan characters. He described the methods of indentifying characters’ categories. Vasilev has also researched characters’ keys. Vasilev considers that the phonetic component expresses the real essence of Chinese character, the key can’t express in the same way. The key is only the way to search a character. That’s why Vasilev is saying that meaning and main purpose of the key are similar to simple letter in the dictionary.Vasilev often uses the materials from “Kangxi characters dictionary” and implements its examples. He also uses “Shuowen” and “Guangya”.This thesis was written by implementing historical analysis, complex and typical research.This book is selected as a research object because it has very important value to understand the teaching methods of Chinese as a foreign language. Not Chinese or Russian scholars made a deep research on this problem.The main purpose to select this topic is to bring out the scientific meaning, contribution and theoretical value from “Analysis of Chinese characters”.
