A Study On Confucius Institute Function From The Perspective Of Higher Education

The growing popularity of studying Chinese language in Confucius Institutes is closely connected with the ascending national strength of China.Confucius Institutes,acting as the most prominent publicity place,have taken the most significant role in promoting native culture to overseas.In the information age today,each country takes to cultural dissemination day by day,the language also highlights as the cultural carrier function more and more,promoting our country language to the overseas is becoming the important way of cultural dissemination.At the same time,the Confucius Institute as a special education body,not only teaching the Chinese Language and disseminating the Chinese Culture,and it is also the communication platform and the window of China and other countries or areas about politics,economy,culture,education and the like.In particular,from the perspective of higher education Confucius Institutes provide the international universities an excellent stage to exchange academic opinion,and as well a communicating bridge,this is determined by the diversity of Confucius Institute's education form and school-running mode.This article studied the Confucius Institutes through a higher education perspective,and Confucius Institute will be defined as a special subject of education,they are the purposes of teaching Chinese language and disseminating culture,and it is the ideal of building a harmonious world.During the research,except the basic function of Confucius Institute,four function of the Confucius Institutes has been ascertained,which are: politics function,economic function,educational function and demographic function.All the arguments within are supported by the data from document or online resources and Confucius Institute of hanban's official website,research the present situation of function implementation of the Confucius Institute.The both sides of benefit and weakness,toward Confucius Institute itself namely organization image,teachers troop,operation mechanism and the receiver,also have been researched.The factor of affecting Confucius Institute function realization thoroughly has been excavated,thus how to optimize Confucius Institute function realization of related countermeasures has been discussed.
