The Confucius institute,aiming at the international promotion and cultural communication of Chinese,comes into being under the background of strong demand for Chinese learning and the increasing communication among all countries.It is also undoubtedly the concrete practice of international education as an educational organization seeking for language promotion and cultural fusion.International understanding education,as an educational concept proposed by UNESCO,has the value of understanding and tolerance,advocates the cultivation of the international understanding and cooperation spirit of the young generation,and emphasizes that education should enable everyone to know themselves and others through further understanding of the world.At present,when Confucius institutes transform from high-speed development to high-quality upgrading,they are confronted with the biggest bottleneck--the problem of teachers.How to solve the problem of the development of Confucius institutes is the foundation of Confucius institutes.In the perspective of international understanding education,the teachers from Confucius institute is not only responsible for simple language teaching tasks,but also improve national mutual understanding,tolerance and cooperation for people under different cultural background and comes from different countries.They are going to contribute to the great historical mission to build a community of human destiny.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction.Starting from the reason of selecting the topic,this paper expounds the urgent need of local teachers with the rapid development of Confucius institutes and frequent global cross-cultural exchanges.describes the necessity of cultivating teachers in the perspective of international understanding education,introduces the research purpose and significance of this article,combs the relevant research results at home and abroad,defines the concept of international understanding education,local teachers the Confucius institute and Confucius institute local teacher training,and expresses the related theoretical basis and research ideas and methods.The second part is the development course,connotation and contemporary value of international understanding education.This part takes the background of international understanding education as the starting point,introduces its development from the 1940s to the 21st century,and analyzes the connotation and contemporary value of it.The third part is the importance of training local teachers in Confucius institutes and the overseas reference.This paper first discusses the objective requirements of the localization development of Confucius institutes and the need to train local teachers of Confucius institutes,and then expounds the urgency of the training of local teachers of Confucius institutes.The fourth part is the analysis of the current situation and problems of local teacher training in Confucius institutes.This paper first describes the specific measures for the training of local teachers in the headquarters of Confucius institutes,and then takes local teachers as the research object.Through questionnaire and in-depth interview,this paper conducts investigation and research on their basic situation,the cultivation of Chinese culture,the cultivation of international understanding quality and the training of teachers.It is found that there are four major problems existing in local teachers,such as uneven team,insufficient ability to teach Chinese culture,low quality of international understanding and imperfect training system.The fifth part is the training strategy of local teachers in Confucius institutes.Based on the international understanding of education concept,this paper puts forward the training countermeasures for local teachers in Confucius institutes.
