The research object of this paper is the prefix E words in the sixth edition of modern Chinese Dictionary. This paper tries to analyze and discuss the prefix E words in the sixth edition of modern Chinese Dictionary from the age level. It is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which includes the selected topic significance of this paper,and the nature of the sixth edition of modern Chinese Dictionary. And then discusses the related research results and methods.The second part discusses the level of times of the word of E prefix in the sixth edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary. According to the age of the word formation, is divided into nine parts, that is, the pre-Qin period, the Qin and Han Dynasties,Wei-Jin and the Southern-Northern Dynasties,Tang and Five Dynasties, Song Dynasty,Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and Minguo and the after day.The third part is the focus of the duty. This chapter describes the etymology of the word and the evolution process of the meaning in detail. On the basis of the big Chinese Dictionary and other dictionaries, points out the suspected error, and tries to correct or supplement.The fourth part is compared with the fifth edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary, revealing the situation of sixth edition, such as add words,delete words and meanings change and integration.
