Comparative Study Between Hundred Years Of Solitude And Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out

Both of Garcia Marquez and Mo Yan are world-known writers who won the Nobel Prize for literature. Both of their novels present the characteristics of magical realism, but their characteristics of magical realism are not the same in some ways. Hundred Years of Solitude and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out are the representative works of Garcia Marquez and Mo Yan respectively.Hundred Years of Solitude describes the rise and decline of Several generations in Latin America, and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out describes that in China. Both of novels combine the unique history and culture of their respective nation. There is a lot of similar but much more difference in two books. This paper will do some comparative study between Garcia Marquez's representative work Hundred Years of Solitude and Mo Yan's representative work Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out from some special angles.Except for the introduction and conclusion, The content of this paper is divided into four chapters. The introduction part introduces Mo Yan and Marquez and their two novels, reviews the background of the two novels and explains the purpose and significance of the paper. The first chapter: magical reality of Hundred Years of Solitude and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out. I will Introduce magical realism and analysis the similarity and difference of two novels from the historical and cultural point. The second chapter: Circulation narrative of Hundred Years of Solitude and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out.In this chapter I will study the circulation narrative in two novels from three aspects. The third chapter: theme comparison of Hundred Years of Solitude and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out. I will analyze the difference between the two novels from themes of death and theme of loneliness. The fourth chapter:the ending comparison of Hundred Years of Solitude and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out. I will analyze the similar ending of the two novels and its different meanings. Finally, the conclusion part of the paper. According to the comparative study of the two novels, readers will understand different choices writers who grew up in different cultures made in processing of some problems.And understand the value and significance of two works more thoroughly.
