The main body of this report is on the translation practice of Beijing Opera-The Lucky Purse.It has been more than 200 years since Beijing Opera was founded in 1790.Beijing Opera of China bears rich cultural connotation,so it is necessary to spread it abroad,and in the process of overseas spread of Beijing Opera,the translation of Beijing Opera script is an effective and essential part of the spread of Beijing Opera.With the guidance of Skopos theory,this article analyses the effective way and method of the translation of Beijing Opera.In this paper,the writer selects chapter 2,chapter 6,chapter 10 and chapter 15 as the translated text with the Skopos theory as the guiding theory which guides the writer in the course the translation project.The writer tries to use this theory to have a research and exploration of Beijing Operas and to solve the problems in the course of translation.The source text is rich in sentences which match both sound and sense in two poetic lines as well as match the rhyme at the end of the libretto.Such sentences are large in number and complicated in the sentence structure,which increases the difficulty to understand and translate the source text.To solve such problems,the writer has applied addition,conversion of phrases and sentence patterns and alliteration to translation under the guidance of the Skopos theory.The main body consists of six parts: introduction,the description of the task,process of translation,case analysis,evaluation on translation and conclusion.The second part introduces the author,content,features,significance and demand for the task;the third part presents the preparatory work,post translation and applied theory;the fourth part includes the translation assessments of self assessment,peer assessment and the mass assessment;the last chapter offers some experience and translation methods during the whole process for further reference.
