Looking At China's Korean Wave Phenomenon Through The Success Of The TV Drama "Descendants Of The Sun"

'The Descendant of the Sun',a Korean TV drama,gained a huge popularity amongst Chinese viewers and had an unprecedentedly enormous impact in China.This study refers to research papers,internet materials and press releases related to the so-called 'Korean Wave'phenomena in China.Firstly,I will theoretically define the Korean Wave using The Descendant of the Sun as a primary example of its impact.Close attention has also been paid to video footage and scripts in doing so.I will analyse the cause of the Korean Wave,the level of its development and acceptance,and the launch of The Descendant of the Sun together with the reasons for its success.This study divides the causes of the success into internal and external factors.It will also look into the economic and cultural effects that The Descendants of the Sun has had on China.China has changed itself from a 'factory of the world' into a global marketplace,and many investors and corporate leaders have begun to develop an interest in what the Chinese citizenry eat,think and like.In this regard,the study explains the reasons for the success of The Descendant of the Sun in China,in consideration of Chinese society's internal and external circumstances,and acknowledging the origins of the Korean Wave.It will also acknowledge the current state and development of the Korean Wave and the reasons for its success in China.
