Cultural Sociology Of The "Korean Wave"

As a strategic product of the policy“culture orientated national development”promulgated by Korean government,the“Korean wave”boosts the Korean economy while bringing their national culture to the overseas audiences. From the perspectives of government,enterprise,culture and culture receiver,the thesis explores the process of“Korean wave”so as to attain enlightenment for the development of Chinese culture industry.The thesis is mainly divided into four parts:Firstly,from the perspective of the culture receiver, the "Korean wave" can be considered as the wave and its influence driven by the Korean mass culture productions. From the perspective of the Korean government strategic orientation.The development of“Korean wave”in China shows the followingoutstanding features:The contents place emphasis on Korean national culture;The processes of spread and development take network as its carrier;The culture demands are created with the help of the enterprise.Secondly,the "Korean wave" is the result of the interaction between the government,enterprise and traditional national culture.The "Korean wave" is not only the production of Korean culture strategy,but also the profitable instrument of the Korean enterprise.By means of taking the Korean culture as its cover and content,the "Korean wave" spreads the ideology orientation of the enterprise and the government to the other countries.Thirdly,facingthe "Korean wave" co-created by the Koreagovernment,enterprise and culture,China takes a negotiable position to decode it.The Chinese government mobilizes the economic vitality by introducing the "Korean wave".While it has a negative influence on Chinese economy and culture,the policy will be promulgated to restrict the "Korean wave".The Chinese enterprise realizes the economic profit and the expansion of overseas markets with the help of the "Korean wave".The common culture receivers have a reflective understanding of "Korean wave" with the internalization ofChinese traditional culture.The constructing process of "Korean wave" reflects the interaction of the government,transnational corporation and culture receiver.The inspiration for the development of Chinese culture industry are as follow:For one thing,the government should take advantage of the national culture;For another,the government should also pay attention to the cultural consumption need of the domestic culture consumers.
