| After established the federal republic of Germany in 1949, with the recovery of social economy and the development of democratization, women’s employment gets a good social environment and development opportunities. In general, women in the federal republic of Germany presents actively in the labor market. Women’s employment is on the rise, and the employment structure and form also present a new change, that is,the proportion of women’s employment increase significantly in the field of services and part-time form is becoming more and more common in women groups. Largely the reason lies in the development of policy and legislation in gender equality, marriage and family rights and women’s employment: The Basic Law and its constant adjustment provide a solid guarantee for women’s equal status with men,on the basis of which the status of women in marriage and family is also in ascension and more and more men are ready for the responsibility for their own family; and women employment laws and regulations create conditions for women’s activities in the labor market permanently and healtily. In addition, the national social welfare policy has played a great role in promoting the development of women’s employment, such as parental leave and kindergarten and so on. At the same time, however, some problems in the federal republic of Germany in terms of women’s employment still exist, such as the low level of employment, gender income gap in workplace ,and the double burden of "work and family". These problems can be attributed to the traditional family pattern of German society ,which leads to the conservatism of the society to some extent. In modern society, the value of the equality of women employment is not only limited to economic level, what is more important is the survival status of women in society and the development of gender equality. Considering the important value and significance of women’s employment, the employment situation must be further improved. And this requires the joint efforts of the state, society, family as well as women themselves. Especially, the country needs to pay great attention to its role in women’s career development, further strengthening its legislation in the related policies and ensuring its effect in fact. On the basis of the efforts, the country helps eliminate unfair treatment faced by the women in the job market and ease the double burden of work and family, and then promote the ascension of women’s social status and the development of gender equality. |
