| Computer aided collaborative translation is the mode used by more and more translation company nowadays.In this mode,terminology management is an essential part of translation quality control.EST(English for Science Technology)is characterized by high proportion of terms and the terms are specialized.Therefore,terminology management is crucial in EST translation.This report gives a detail introduction of the terminology management in the process of book translation,which is CRC Handbook of Marine Mammal Medicine,in order to give an example about terminology management in future translation project.In this paper,the author introduced how they did the terminology management in their translation project.The author talked about how they did the terminology extraction,how to translate the terms,how to store the terms,and how to do the terminology maintenance and terminology review.The longer time we are in the translation business,the more we get to know the importance of terminology management in translation.We realized that terminology management is one of the most important things a translator needs to learn.In abroad,there is a saying that “translator as terminologist”.And the Spanish scholar Silvia Montero Martínez and Pamela Faber Benítez talked about the skill of terminology management when they are talking about the skill need to be required by translators. |
