This thesis is a simulated C-E simultaneous interpreting practice report. The material chosen for this simulated interpreting is the lecture “Chinese Martial Culture and World Civilization” carried out by Kong Qingdong,a professor from Beijing University on the 5th UN Chinese Language Day.The author first carried out the interpreting with the material and recorded the whole process. Then the author made an analysis of the interpreting and summarized the feedback from the audience. The report was written based on the analysis and the audience’s feedback. The source text has three main linguistic features: martial arts-related words, complex syntactic structure and implicit logic connections between sentences.During the process of interpreting, three problems caused by these features appeared: misinterpreting, information loss and incoherence of the target language expressions. So the author put forward such solutions to deal with these problems as free translation, changing the sentence structure and pinpointing the connections between sentences. It is hoped that this thesis can be a reference for other interpreters with similar interpreting materials in interpreting tasks.
